It is a story that makes any normal human sick. A toddler was violently sexually assaulted by a known sexual offender out on bail, according to family members.
The details of this case are horrific.
The following is from the National Post article:
“The accused is identified by police as Daniel Senecal, 25, of Welland. He is charged with aggravated sexual assault on a child, assault, assault by choking, breaking and entering a home and sexual interference with a child.
Another mother in the area told National Post the suspect is the same man who sexually attacked her young son in 2021. She said the attack on her son largely mirrored the allegations in the weekend attack, including a nighttime sexual assault, although he did not break into the home as he was a guest at a relative’s house. She said he was arrested, charged and after two years of court hearings was sentenced to 18 months in jail, but was released six months early, in early March.”
Aren’t children supposed to be safe in their homes?
Why was this predator out?
Politics is a wild world, but isn’t this a time when, no matter whose team you are on, you park your partisan politics and say, ok, enough is enough, this is not working. Violent criminals and predators who should be behind bars are not, and as a government, we have the authority to change that now, AND we have the support of the opposition.
For clarity, the Liberals are the government, the Conservatives are the opposition.
C75 and judges making poor decisions are a key reason for the mayhem. C75 is the reason for the catch-and-release catastrophe that is terrorizing communities in this country. Criminals know there are NO real consequences, and so they are living their best lives, one awful crime at a time.
This sicko who raped this little innocent girl needs to be locked up indefinitely.
This has gone too far, and children are the collateral damage. The minister of justice, Sean Fraser can reform bail right now, if he wants. He has that authority and the support of the Conservatives, but instead, he is making petty remarks on X about Pierre Poilievre and his political career. Minister Fraser made a joke that Canada isn’t the Wild West, it might actually be worse.

Minister, park your hatred for the Conservatives and Pierre Poilievre and please do your job.
After I lost the election, I emailed Sean after he was appointed Minister of Justice. We have so many victims in this country, and their rights are continuously stomped out by criminals’ rights. Here is the email I sent him:

I really wanted to extend an olive branch and let him know that victims need both sides to work together.
He never responded, and he never responded to Cait Alexander, the founder of EVE (End Violence Everywhere), who was almost beaten to death by her partner, who walks freely because the case was thrown out because of the Jordan Decision.
Canada needs unity more than anything, and I can’t think of an issue that should unite us more than protecting a toddler from being raped by a known sexual predator who should not be out of jail or ever allowed near children.
Please email Minister Fraser, tell him we need bail reform now. Tell him to work with the Conservatives and use his authority to pass the Conservative Stand On Guard Bill, that changes the criminal code to allow Canadians to defend their home and family using force, including lethal force, to anyone who unlawfully enters their home, and to change Bill C75 that ends the catch and release of criminals and ensures criminals who are not rehabilitated stay behind bars to ensure public safety.
This story is one of many, but it is the story we need to share to change the law. To the parents and family of this child, I am so sorry. Canada’s justice system failed you.
Enough promises, enough talk. It is time for change and action.
Predators will go where they know they won’t get caught.
It is time to send a message that they will most definitely be caught and put in a cage.
